PamelaA 4
Caron, What a great response to the challenge. Your lions remind me of S. Boynton's "lion of least resistance." Your choice of intrepretation makes you quilt a standout. Pamela

quiltaholi_518 4
I will be sure to post, hopefuly with another ribbon! The next theme is "Land of Lincoln" in honor of Lincoln's 200th birthday, a bit more somber theme...
witha'K'quilting 333
Land of Lincoln reminds me of an old Highway that runs along US 50, called the Lincoln Highway. Beautiful mountains, wild mustangs...very High Desert Nevada.
Bekah 107
Caron, congratulations. Very well deserved. I always so admire your work and those lions could hang in my house anytime
ramona-quilter 13
Congrats, Caron. Clever interpretation of the topic. I hope that you will share some of the other ones you do for this LQS event. Lincoln, huh? Think pennies, Lincoln Logs, Lincoln monument....
dancingstitcher 0
Congratulations on your lions Caron. Seems you could use those again on several children's things. To me your reeds look like cattails which could be a further pun to your lions. A clever name for a quilt was such a good idea. One quilt that has stuck in my mind since Nashville 2002 was an Abraham Lincoln penny image that appeared out of little squares when you stood back and had a concentrated stare at it. Then more Lincoln heads popped up too, very clever imaging. Good luck with your Lincoln challenge. It would be interesting to make a Lincoln face in the style of that red/white/blue Obama face.
