quiltmonkey
Thought I'd share a cute one I just got. It was fun. I used several Valdani variegated thread that was in my stash and did some whimsical designs in the background, borders and sashing.
JoleneK
That quilt is adorable, like the way you quilted it. The squiggle lines thru the sashing is so simple and perfect.

yeoldeforest
Shana - those bugs are way too cute!!! Is this yours or a customer's? That bug on the top left looks like my boss from my last job - at least the belly does!
quiltmonkey
LOL! Yes it was fun. The guy with the scarf is my favorite. The customer will add the eyes after, so they kinda look weird right now without their eyes.
witha'K'quilting
Love it. I like how you quilted it. Whimsy bugs...how neat. Your customer has great taste: first, in fabric and design; second, you as her quilter. Way to go!
quiltmonkey
Awwwww Kristina. Thanks. Yes, she is a terrific lady (fellow guild member and friend) and a meticulous piecer. I've done a few of her quilts in the past and all of them have been pieced beautifully. The blanket stitch around all of the bugs... I think this took hours and hours. I think she said it took her 5-6 hours per block!! I agree....she does have a good taste in her color choices, too. But, it might have been a kit??? Maybe someone here recognizes if it is a kit? Glenda, Two words... Go loose, baby. Go Loose. Also use a bigger needle. I used a 4.5 and it works perfect. I have no trouble with Valdani if I set bobbin and top loosey goosey. Valdani has been in my stash (for DSM quilting) and I've had it for years and I need to use it up! is 100% cotton and it is very linty but I love this fat thread. It has great texture! And the colors are so pretty, too.
