dancingstitcher
This is my first view of pink rain last night in the desert north of Phoenix. It had been even brighter but still viewable after I retrieved my camera. So pretty. Vicki
dancingstitcher
This is one of the prettiest sunsets here in the desert that I've seen in a long time. This resulted in coloring the rain pink in the previous shot. Vicki
dancingstitcher
Here's the sky to the north which had it's own take on pink. Vicki
Terrinm
That's gorgeous! Here in nw NM we've also had some beautiful pink/orange sunsets the last few nights.

quiltmonkey
Very cool photos, Vicki! The Arizona desert is probably the prettiest desert in the world. Really truly it is.
Kerstin
How beautiful!! That's an extraordinary phenomenon and unbelievable colors! Or do you have sunsets like that often where you live?
dancingstitcher
You guys are fast in responding. Nice to hear from you. It seems that there are more beautiful sunsets in the fall and winter, a real treat for snowbirds. I hadn't seen pink rain before. Quite spectacular in person. Can you imagine a quilt in these colors?
Quilting Heidi
wow I think that would make a beautiful quilt!

I agree! The times around the spring and autumn Equinox, I notice that our sunsets in Alaska are absolutely breathtaking! And, I agree with Heidi that you need to make yourself a pink rain sunset quilt.
kimmiequilts
Awesome colors, thank you for sharing, I've never been to the desert so it's wonderful to see the beauty! What a great quilt that would be!
Liam
Beautiful pictures! I thought that those pictures would make a beautiful wall hanging quilt pattern.
bobbipatillo
Actually it is the only positive thing that comes from the wildfires in California. Good for you for getting the camera quickly before it was gone. Bobbi
BethDurand
Thanks for posting the pictures, and I have to admit that when I saw the title of the post, I really thought you were talking about a quilt. So... let's see what you come up with! With inspiration like that, it would be astounding. Thanks so much for sharing such great shots.

Boni
Trouble is, we're looking at a digital photo in cyberspace. The real view is even MORE breathtaking! Try as we might, God's handiwork can not be captured in any medium. One morning last week we had a morning double rainbow and I wanted so bad to get it on my camera. Rainbows are very illusive. Thanks for the beautiful pictures.
LinneaMarie
I'm sure it is even better in person! Thanks for sharing! I sure enjoyed the beautiful view!!
mswings
I've never heard of pink rain before. The pictures are beautiful. I'm sure it was even more spectacular in person. I'm not likely to ever see it so thanks for sharing. I agree with LinneaMarie, nothing God creates can be captured by any medium. It's a blessing to be able to see His creations! dancingstitcher
Maybe it's God's remembrance of 9/11/2001. What a sad day and I didn't put my flag out. Guess I'll do our guild's veteran quilt blocks in red, white, and blue today. Do you know that there are no flag colors from any country that are pink? Maybe that's God's flag color along with many others. That's the artist in all of us to try and capture God's inspiration. Good luck with your rainbows Boni. Doubles are really special. Terrinm
Sadly I've been told the sunsets are that color right now because of the smoke in the atmosphere from the CA wildfires. Years ago during the Missionary Ridge fire in Colorado the sunsets were unbelievable, it was because of all the smoke and ash in the sky.
