LinneaMarie
Ok, this is clearly NOT speaking to me!! I know some of you have done the Day & Night quilts. The customer does NOT want custom, so I am stumped. ANY ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks:D:DPICTURES SO FARPICTURES SO FAR

April W
She went to all the trouble to make this beautiful top (with gorgeous fabric) and she doesn't want custom. Argh! I would probably do something swirly, not too dense.
witha'K'quilting
Why not custom? Oh well, to each their own. I would find a leaf/fern pantograph or leaf/fern meander and go over the whole thing in a thread to match the light areas. It is very pretty. victoriasews
I'm with Kristina. I'd do a meandering fern.
LinneaMarie
Oh, did I mention the batting? Warm and Natural; PIECED TOGETHER AND PUCKER-Y!!
doodlebug
see the design of the burgundy batik, why not use that as a start of a E2E. use a smidge darker thread color than the off white fabric and you should be fine. but i agree, this quilt would look great with a simple custom.... LinneaMarie
Show me simple custom!! Please:)
witha'K'quilting
I want to see simple custom too Shannon! Otherwise...I suggested leaf meander to hopefully mimic the design as Shannon did.
quiltmonkey
If she doesn't want custom, I agree with Viki, April Shannon and Kristina and do a nice e2e design that has swirls or curls that are soft and flowing. Do you have the waterworld panto or Funky Chicken? Something like that would look OK. I would use a subtle thread; probably off white.
doodlebug
will you post a pic of one block from straight in front of the top? please
LinneaMarie
Just the one block. Thanks!!!
quiltmonkey
Linnea, can you miimic some of the pattern designs in the pink batik? Perhaps something with sunflowers? There are some cute sunflower pantographs out there...
witha'K'quilting
come on Shannon...work your doodling magic!!
LinneaMarie
I probably can mimic the sunflowers. I'm just afeared!! I was going to use Superior Lava in Cambree. A real light pink mix.
doodlebug
okay sorry to make you post the pic....i realized that one block wouldn't work so i went to EQ and did this.... anywhoo.....since the quilting lines go to the points of all the blocks (red circles) that makes this quilting design #1. continious, and #2 simple....you just 'travel' to the next section when you reach a red circled point, then when you get to the end of the quilt, turn around and come back, or break thread and start on the left and finish... clear as mud? the green straight lines are SID..... (ahh....it's good to be back)
doodlebug
i'm not a fan of SID....it takes too much time...*shrug* but you could CC the star and travel at the red circle and still keep the feel of the orginal first design.... ok, i'm stopping now, i could do this all evening.... Neher-in-law5
What a pretty quilt and Shannon's doodles are lusicious for it. Shannon, you have a real gift in the designs that you can see in each quilt. Thanks for sharing them. There are times it would be great to be your clone when I need to find a design. Linnea, This will be fun to see as you finish it.
