veg-girl
I thought I would try a new batting today 50/50 cotton soya. It feels lovely and soft and drapey. I am wearing a black velour tracksuit. When I loaded the batting I was covered in cream fluff from knees to neck! I am now quilting and the fluff is no longer on me , it is all over the quilt top instead! The backing of the quilt is navy blue and now has a thousand batting pokies. GRR! Can I get rid of them now it is quilted? The batting has a scrim or smoother layer on one side . Should this be towards the top or the back? It was all going so well
sewlinzi
I believe the fluffy side goes up and the smooth scrim side should go next to the lower layer (backing). I wonder if it will calm down after washing, maybe even tumble dryer??
Bonnie
What Linzi said, is exactly what I was thinking as well....
veg-girl
Well I've got the second quilt of the pair to do on the same piece of backing tomorrow.I,m going to cut the batting off and turn it over before doing the next quilt. I will let you know the difference (if any ) tomorrow.
