I heavily starch the binding that is then cut to 1" before attaching I stitch around the item about 1/8th in to flatten. Without this it messes up everytime. I go fairly slow. Grammie Posted May 28, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 28, 2006 I think what really helps besides heavy starch is to staystitch to have a flat edge going under the needle. This is too much trouble for some but it only takes a few mintues. Sometimes it doesn't start out as well but does well after the first inch or so. Start out slow.
