BarbWetzel
I am having one of those days. I am trying to get a T-Shirt quilt done this weekend and of course, my thread wants to keep breaking. I cleaned my machine, but in a new needle, adjusted the tension on top an bottom and nothing works. Any suggestions.. I have a Millinium. Charlene
Barb, By any chance are you using a cotton thread? Last time I had this problem, I needed to put the thread in a baggy and the freezer for a few hours, then the problem of thread breaking resolved itself. Try stitching on something else and see if the thread keeps breaking. If the thread is breaking while going thru some of the graphics on the T-shirts, might have to try another size needle, maybe silicone spray on the thread, or avoid those spots on the T-shirts. Good luck, Char
BarbWetzel
The thread is my last chance.. I will try the freezer.. I actually use polyester thread.. not cotton. I am right in the middle of this quilt. I just went back down and try putting a new needle in.. NO Luck..... Thanks for the tip. Barb
Bonnie
As Char mentioned lub up the thread but also the grove in the needle could use a little Sewers Aid as well....works for me on T-Shirt quilts hope this helps you.
