juliagraves
I know this is an odd question, but I'm looking at making curtains and putting up a wallpaper border, and found a great fabric for the curtains that has a coordinating border print. I'm wondering about using the border print as a wallpaper border. I'm thinking about using an iron-on interfacing to stiffen the fabric and then using wallpaper paste to glue it up. Is this crazy? Has anyone ever done this? Any ideas are greatly appreciated! Julia
busybee
Wow, might try using paper backing on the fabric as it will ohere to it. Paper is just like wall paper. Then later on down the road if you change wall paper it may come off easier. Just a thought. Great idea Share when done.

dixieqwv
I have a whole wall with the American Flag done for the last 7yrs or so in my quilt studio. Use StaFlo liquid starch. Here are some simple instructions .... I first saw this method on Carol Duvall's show on HGTV. http://www.rentaldecorating.com/quick_fix_fabric_on_walls.htm When you're done just pull it away. Easy and looks great.
Bonnie
I have a friend who did this to her whole bedroom. She used staples and trim on the seams. Worked wonderfully and looked great.
ffq-lar
This goes in the opposite direction! A quilting buddy made that chicken quilt a couple of years ago--the one with the cute chickens running all around. It hangs in her kitchen area. She photo-copied her chicken blocks, cut around the chickens and pasted them so they are running all around the soffit above her cabinets. It is so cute!! juliagraves
Thanks for the input all! It looks like the starch idea should work really well, and I'm encouraged to find people that have actually done this Thank you! Julia
Quilting Heidi
Julia, I have used fabric with the Staflo and it works wonderfully and lasts until you want it off. When you are ready you just pull it off. I used to do this when we lived in military housing and we couldn't paint the walls which were always off-white.
