removing prestamped ink?

Recommended Posts

I'm working on my first customer quilt and need help from you experts PLEASE. It is a prestamped cross stitch kit that was made by the customers' mother (so I know it is somewhat older). I need to know how to remove the prestamped design from the quilt top. It is very important to me to have the marks removed before returning it, especially since it has been difficult for me to "stay on the line" exactly as marked.

Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated.

If the stamping was done in the 60's or late 50's you won't be able to get them out....the products we used back in those days wasn't really meant to be washed out....if its a later product it should come out with washing in a cool water bath. BUT, i'm not sure I would want to totally wash a customers quilt, so you might be able to try a little water on a cloth and see if the spots remove. What ever you do don't use any soap or get it hot with an iron...that will set the spots forever.
