meg_marsh
Haven't posted anything in awhile, but have been busy. Here are a couple of pictures of my latest which still needs a label and the binding. I digitized the appliqued fish so I could place it in the background and border - everything else if freehand and ruler work.......... [/img] There are some pictures on my Webshots........... Quilting Heidi
That is absolutely adorable. Is this your own original pattern? If not I need to know the maker. My DIL will love that quilt and we are trying to have grandbaby #1 so I can't start quilting too soon can I?

PamelaA
Heidi, I bought a kit to do this quilt a few years ago. The design is by Heidi Pridemore and is called "Under the Sea". My instructions came with the kit and have Diamond Textiles listed as the copyright owner. I haven't done the quilt yet so it is still in the plastic bag. The sticker on the bag says it is from :Seams To Me, 17 E State St. Algona, IA phone: 515-295-5841. I hope this is helpful. Pamela

meg_marsh
thank you for all the nice compliments. It always means so much!! Laura - you remembered! It worked and I am so pleased - did spend a bit of time practicing before it went on the quilt. I love this fill - it paid off to make a good drawing in class so that I wouldn't forget!!! LOL Carmen - thanks for your advice on the eyes - I think I put a close-up on my webshots - you would never notice the goof............ Libby, I have an IQ (computerized system) which I use for some of my quilting - in this case the fish in the background and borders of this quilt. I first traced the large appliqued fish and practiced drawing it over and over again trying to determine the best stitching path. I then drew it out on a practice quilt & then stitched while recording it on my IQ. Next I "cleaned up" my recorded design on the IQ so all the lines were smooth and I was pleased with the design. I now have the fish design for ever and ever and can stitch in any size I want. It took me quite a while to do but I was pleased with the results. I try to do most of my quilting freehand, but am just not good enough for some of the things I want to do - therefore the computerized system. My favorite part of this quilt is the background fill on the lower yellow border - it was one I learned in a class taught by Marilyn Badger at Road to California earlier this month. I was fortunate enough to spend a full day with her learning all kinds of things - was great!!! It was mostly learning different fills which I desperately needed. She was so much fun!!
