BobbieJones
I've only used Superior thread since I got my longarm. I was given a cone of Signature Metallic (Copper) and want to use it. Does anyone have suggestions regarding needle size or tension issues? Thanks in advance for any input. bj
Bonnie
You might need to use a bit of Sewers Aid on it, but tension and needle size the same as for your regular Signature. I only use 4.0's for EVERYTHING so I don't have any 3.5 or 4.5 needles. Tension is the same for regular cotton signature.
BobbieJones
Thanks Bonnie. That helps me alot as I've never used any Signature thread.
BobbieJones
I used your suggestions Bonnie but I didn't have any luck. After about two hours I switched back to Superior (Lava) and everything went just fine. Thank you though! Any other suggestions out there? bj
francine
Loosen your tension(top) all the way out then slowly tighten it down. Do not wind through all 3 holes on the thread guide go in one end and out the other like a basting stitch. I personaly love superior threads and sell them but i hear a lot of women(OOPS SEXIST! I MEANT QUILTERS) like the signature thread. You could also try stitching where you want it to go with vanishing thread then flip the quilt and put the metalic in the bobbin and use the vanishing stitching to trace. Let us know how it goes! BobbieJones
I will try again but for now I had to get the quilt finished. I changed to Superior Lava and had no problems. bj
Omega QW
You will want to use only polyester on the bobbin. Cotton will grab it the metallic thread and cause problems.
