"Kansas Winter Stars" - pictures...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

"Kansas Winter Stars" is my second show quilts for 2010 - actually it's the third. It just has been awarded 2nd place in the Longarm category at the Open European Quilt Championships in The Netherlands - and as it's now "out there" I think it's ok to post some pictures.

This quilt was made in a challenge among five friends. We challenged ourselves to make a top from one Jelly Roll plus any amount of one additional fabric. I had to use a Jelly Roll of the Kansas Winter line of fabrics by Moda - hence the name. KWS measures 84" square and is by far the most traditional quilt I have made in a very long time. However, as I used shiny polyester thread, I couldn't enter it in the Traditional Custom category at MQS...

Enjoy,

Birgit
