Stagecl
Why is it that smoke/heat alarms lose their batteries in the middle of the night? Murphy's law I bet. Mine are going off, I don't have replacement batteries on hand. Just didn't think about it sooner here. It is 1:40 am, I may have to go to the store (if any are open here). I really don't want to go...it is raining here too. *sigh* I guess I have to decide if I want to sleep:o In Richmond, after about 4 of them went off one midnight, I replaced the batteries every year:P I learned there but I forgot about it here:o:P:o Senior moments! quiltmonkey
I think you could get away with no smoke alarm for a few hours. Go back to bed!!!
Stagecl
I have replaced the batteries in the carbon monoxide detector, checked the old smoke detectors that don't have batteries and hit the test buttons. Then I removed the one with the batteries, but I still was getting an alarm sound and can't find where it is coming from. So with that I am heading off to bed because all is quiet finally at 2:28 am. Wish me luck in getting some sleep:P:P:P

Stagecl
I went to bed an alarm went off. So I finally found the last one. It was a CO detector that was in the basement. I just never noticed it which is dumb because I walk under it every day:o:o:o

Chocoholic
We replace ours every New Years Day. Got in the habit after we had suffered your middle of the night problem for a couple of years. Figure even if they don't need replacing, it is cheap compared to a night's sleep!
