Quilts of Valor

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I just wanted to let everyone know that my MIL and about 40 ladies are on their way to Fort Knox Hospital in Kentucky with over 600 quilts to deliver to wonded vets. You can follow their progress at "qovmission.blogspot.com". The did some fund raising and rented a bus to take them from northern Minnesota to Kentucky. They have had motorcycle escorts all of the way.

My husband and I quilted over 50 of the QOV quilts for this mission. And when my MIL asked us to pick up six rolls of king size batting from the wholesaler for her we were more than happy to do it.

We brought our Ford Probe to pick up these small rolls of batting. Wouldn't you know it that they were six 120" wide rolls of Hobbs 80/20, the jumbo rolls. My creative husband got all six rolls into the car. His new nickname is "cottonball"

I just read the blog, and I'm sitting here in tears! The love that these women are showing our wounded servicepeople is absolutely wonderful. And when I saw the Legion Riders and Patriot Guard patches, that brought it all home. DH is a Legion Rider himself, and I know he'd be thrilled to have the opportunity to take part in something like this. I told him about it, and he is in awe of what these groups have accomplished and are doing. Way to go!
