donnavans
Have you ever quilted a quilt on a long arm that had a double knit backing? Friend has finished a quilt for an older friend that is going into a nursing home. The quilt means a lot to the lady going into the nursing home. It is supposed to be a wall hanging so I assume the quilt is not very large.
Bonnie
I haven't, but would think it would have same stretch as poplar fleese, or minky. However I personnally try to talk her out of it.
donnavans
The fabric was all chosen by the older lady.
Front Porch Quilting
I have quilted on double knit on the top but not the bottom. Had no problems with it. It quilted up really nicely.
Quilting Heidi
I haven't ever used just plain double knit but I have used polar fleece and minkee with no problems. Some double knit is a little heavier and that would probably be easier to quilt vs something very like and flimsy. I would guess it is about like stitching on t-shirt fabric. Just be really careful not to stretch it out.
donnavans
We have cotton fabric for the backing now! I am so relieved.
