Who wants to take a picture at MQS?

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

I really did it! I sent my quilt to MQS. It is all a first to me and I'm really excited that they did except my quilt for the show.

I know it is a bit bold to send in for show at such a huge show as MQS, but really there are ample juried shows in the Netherlands and I am no member of a guild. How I whished I could be there, but that is still a dream. Therefor I wanted to ask you if perhapse some-one of you could make some pictures of my quilt at MQS. I would love to have some sort of an impression of the show.

Well this is the quilt I'm talking about:

Thank you for looking, and I hope to hear from one of you!

I'm so jealous....I'm still trying to get my feathers to look like that, and just have fits with it.... WAY beautiful for sure.

Wowza.... I am not going to MQS, but that is amazing. Love the way you did a different pattern in each of the white areas. I can only dream of quilting like that one day.

Good luck!

I saw it and it is GORGEOUS! Sorry, I didn't get a picture because my friend is ordering the CD of the show.

I saw this quilt at MQS today. Unfortunately, I don't have a good camera that I can operate! It really is lovely, and the different motifs in the white areas are stunning. The group I was with were all impressed with this beauty!

Hi Wendy - I just emailed photos of your quilt hanging at MQS. It is a beauty.

FYI - MQS is not a juried show like MQX and Road2CA. Pick a category and send in

your entry form. The more the merrier. This was my third year entering a quilt. I am hoping to move

some of the "needs improvement" to "satisfactory" and some of the "satisfactory" to "excellent".

It is a growing (and humbling) experience.

Hello Ladies,

Charlotte, I do give lessons to beginners, but being a beginner in longarming myself (I have my machine just a year now), I am a proud student of Claudia Pfeil. She thaught me how to sew those feathers. We live in Europe (I'm Dutch) but Claudia made a DVD on making formal feathers called Fun (P)feiling Feathers, it is widely available I think.

Cindy, I will also order the DVD when it is available.

Linda, Thank you for sending me the pictures. It even made me wanting more to be there! I've entered for show to get a jury report telling me what to improve and learn better. I can imagine of few points to improve already: Better backtracking, better stich in the ditch and so fort...

All ladies, thank you so much for the compliments. I had a lot of fun making the quilt and it helped me in my learning curve: my backtracking improved with every feather.

Now back to my customer quilt, a dresden plated on which she liked feathers aswell. I will post pictures when it is done.
