bobbi
OK, so I found this great BRIGHT stripe and it's not really "cottage", but I thought it might just make some of the blocks JUMP! Even though I should be quilting my challenge quilt for guild, I got sidetracked! I still don't know what to use for the setting triangles, but I think just a cream tone on tone and then one more border of stripe... It'll make a great "summer throw' for my green couch! Here ya go! oops, please don't notice that there are plenty of black threads on the floor!
bobbi
close up... Oh, I got the fabric at JoAnn's... It's funny cause Bonnie B's block and my blocks are very close in fabrics! LOL

doodlebug
that is pretty (and quickly productive) that is funny- yours and bonnie's block are VERY similar. i was thinking i'd start mine today too... if you use cream for the setting tris, you could really showcase some fancy quilting there... i did finish the test quilt for the Sister's choice swap....i blogged about it! witha'K'quilting
The stripes are very pretty. I too would choose setting triangles in a cream/beige to showcase some quilting.

bobbi
Thanks! I actually made 5 extra because I was going to set it 4x4 = 16. (We each sent in 11 and kept one for ourselves) I'm only using 2 of the ones I made, they're on either side of your block in the 2nd pic, Shana. Gail you silly! I've GOT to finish my guild challenge! I'm so not motivated... It has to be done by the June 1st meeting! The Challenge is to make a quilt with a "bag" as an inspiration... Since I'm into "bags" lately, I made mine and am doing a quilt to go with it... I'll show ya'll after the meeting! Oh, yeah, it could be any old bag, Hallmark, a purse you like, someone in your group... get it? "Any old bag!"
CindyT
I love your choice of the stripe fabric and blocks on diagonal. My artsy friend was here yesterday and she played with the layout of the blocks. That's as far as I got...I mean as SHE got!

dnice
Wow Bobbi !!!! What a surprise. I thought my roses were wonderful and now you surpass that. LOL. Challenge quilt has the binding started and about 36 inches more to go. Especially since I go it all by hand.

Liam
Bobbi your stripe sashing is perfect! I really like your layout too! Some day I would like to join in on one of the swaps, if I could ever learn to squeeze extra time out of each day. Anyways I am looking forward to see the finish product! bobbi
Liam! You absolutely should join one of the great swaps! Shannon has some great ideas and the blocks are really easy to piece. You can learn to squeeze out that extra time - you've been a "Mr. Mom" for years haven't you? How do you think us gals get 'er done? C'mon Liam! You CAN do this!!! -b:cool:
piecrust
I finished assembling my blocks today. I stole Bobbi's idea with the stripes and layout. Now, I am looking for names and locations of all participants to place on the quilt label. I have posted a picture on my blog, http://vickiequilts.blogspot.com/'>http://vickiequilts.blogspot.com/ Please take a peek.
