Stagecl 13
Shopping at Shell. I should add because my grocery store gives a discount when purchasing groceries on Sunday. I can accumulate cents off per gallon for every dollar I buy. At the most I have gotten 24 cents off a gallon.

Kueser 56
I am really torn. I went to school with the folks that own the BP station here in town. I wish they would find another company.

Mary Beth 840
Yep, I have a very good friend that her dad worked on oil rigs. My family had worked on oil rigs. This could have happened to any of the oil companies, just so happens it was BP. It's all so sad. Nobody wins when something like this happens.

Lin 0
My understanding that most BP stations are independents and buy their gas from BP. While I believe they should be held responsbile for their actions boycotting the stations hurts the local owners.

PattyJo 92
I agree with Lin. Boycotting only hurts the employees of the company and the dealers who buy from BP and neither of them are responsible for what has happened. It is a sad situation, but boycotting punishes the people who had nothing to do with this. IMHO

doodlebug 35
my two cents worth: i watched the special on it the other night (as well as my own research on the net) and from what i gathered BP knew this could happen. the inspections required on the rigs as well as the pipes showed major violations with the EPA as well as other regulations. BP gambled and the environment has lost... one 'former' employee said that BP thought that another rig would 'blow' first (not the one that did) because it was in worst shape (there are public inter-office memos that show this) it all sucks, either way. my heart goes out to the fisherman sitting twiddling their thumbs and to mother nature who is probably thinking another ice age by meteor is starting to sound good right 'bout now.
