victoriasews
This one really has me stumped and I'm not easily stumped. I just don't have a clue what to do. These are 9.5 inch hst and 1.75 circles.
meg
did she fussy cut the black or are those circles appliqued?
Quilting Heidi
Wow that is a tough one. What about if you did straight lines every 1/4" going out to the triangle point and just going around the circle in the dark triangles and then just do a freehand meander in the colored areas. I assume you want custom.
kennan100
I'd do lines, but not straight ones, I'd make them squiggly, not an echo kind of squiggle, I'd try to keep them from echoing each other. I think those animal prints need that movement so they'll come alive and not look so flat. Then McTavish the black areas and SID around the circles so they'll pop against the McTavishing. I really like this quilt, can we see the whole thing? And again when you finish it?
sewlinzi
If the circles are bondawebbed on, maybe you need to sew around each one twice or do a tiny rough zigzag that would be a bit like an African mask and small freehand it to the next one with some kind of geometric fill If just a wall quilt then circles or swirls? LinneaMarie
What a funny pattern!! It's a tough one for sure. I might do interlocking/connecting circles over all. hmmmm........gotta think about this one!
victoriasews
Here is the whole quilt. It is 77 x 77 minus cut off corners. The circles are appliqued. I don't want to do a pantograph because I think it'd take away from the circles.
Quilting Heidi
Victoria this is what I'd do. In the print area I would just do a meander of something, really anything to give it movement.
The Crafty Unicorn
How about a dense filler in the black to pop the circles and unify the black areas? Looking at the fabrics, something like McTavishing (Mc-Tiger-ing?) The print areas still have me stumped. Please keep us posted.

PattyJo
Actually, I love this quilt because it is so different. I would do McTigering in the black and maybe some jungle ferny frondy things or a geometric african design in the lite animal skins. For the circles, I would do a large zig/zag around the outside and just into the circle, kind of like a sun burst in each one to make sure they stay down. What ever you decide to do will be great. Like I said, I really love this quilt. Can you get the pattern info from your customer and share it?
Omega QW
If you have one of those circle thingies, you could do all circles to offset the straight lines.
IBQLTN2
can't wait to see it done, very cool quilt
JollyJane
Love that quilt - and have loads of animal prints that would work really well like that. But, quick reality check, I am NEVER going to do all those little circles which really make the difference. So, I will just hang on to my animal prints until I come up with some thing that I will actually do!! Good luck with the quilting. I look forward to seeing it finished! quiltmonkey
I did a "McTigering" type of design on an african animal print quilt a few months back and it looked really cool. Looked similar to the zebra and tiger design. I echoed around and Just did e2e. Fast, too.
