Sheri Butler
I'd stipple down the white areas..It will really make those block designs pop! ..and do something different in each of the blocks!
fabric007
the ones I just completed..the lay said to just look at each block and do whatever feels right..some blocks had stippled backgrounds..others had curly things..some had stencils..some outlined...didnt look to bad...after all remember ..it is a sampler..good luck..bet it will turn out great... Judith Fosse
I SID each block and then do lots of different circles inside. Stipple some areas to make them pop. JUdith Fosse Millie anxiously waitiing for Bliss:):P
Quilting Heidi
When I'm doing a sampler I usually pick one thing that I'll try to repeat in every block and then fill in from there. For instance cc's or cross hatching. That holds the quilt together and gives it structure. I'm getting ready to load a quilt that is a sampler too. quiltmonkey
OK here's another perspective on the sampler::: If you want to play and try doing different designs in each block, by all means go for it and have fun! But::: you can also do a really pretty e2e pantograph in these samplers and they look really lovely, too. I did this with my own blue and yellow sampler (with variegated blue/green/yellow Rainbows thread) and I love how it looks. I used the "Feelin' Groovy" panto. Neher-in-law5
You could also follow the theme of "sampler" and sample the many different treatments or designs with each block sampled differently from the others.
RitaR
That will be gorgeous.. here is a site that shows hundreds of background fillers... really neat to pick some favs or just browse for new ideas. http://www.freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/ Taking a class from Jamie Wallen would help immeasurably! Liam
I like Sheri's suggestion, it's a sample....so it should have a different design in each block; excellent way to show off different quilting designs!
