The Crafty Unicorn
I confess I have not used my CL like I should. But I found the push-button unit on sale and got it. Wow, does that make things easier! I had a charity quilt come in and I decided to play with the CL. This is the result- (hopefully pictures will follow) The Quilt [/img] And the border I finally got the hang of lining up the Cross-hatch template. Now I want to buy more templates! ckeindl
I have the push button unit - isn't installed. I ordered and I'm waiting for the up-front stylus because I like to work from the front more - does the button work in the front? Would love to hear more about your push button. Great quilting BTW - thanks for sharing the photos!!!!

The Crafty Unicorn
Yes Cathy, The push-button works from the front and lifts the stylus out of the template on the back. It makes SID between cross-hatches SO much easier, no guessing from the back of the table or constantly running from front to back.
JustSewSimple
What is the push button? I have the CL and the front stylist; I wonder if I have a push button.....
The Crafty Unicorn
Sylvia, the info on the push-button is on one of Michael's many blogs... Click here
ckeindl
Thanks for the info. Leslie! Great quilting! I am moving my CL to the front with the up front stylus - I'll still have to figure out if the push button proves useful from the front - but it is when cross hatching from the back and using a Large template correct? njquiltergirl
Hi Leslie. That quilt looks great. Perfect place to try it out. I love the Ginko-type designs you put in between the CH. Yup, the whole CL world is addicting! The new fillers are so tempting... Lisa APQS Liberty Circle Lord NJ
The Crafty Unicorn
That's right Cathy. I used it last night with my Baptist Fan giant template. I had to work from the front because the antique quilt had "issues". I could smooth and tuck as needed and still not have to quilt full fans on all the edges. It will also be great when I have to put a template pattern in the center with custom borders. Even with the CL up front, the push button would let you lift the sylus with your right hand if you needed to use a ruler with your left hand to SID or go around applique. It would take some co-ordination, but it would work.
