Before I could greet him, My Saturday was spent. So today I must grovel And bend on one knee, for my wish for his big day 'tis belated sadly. He fished on his birthday And helped two lads out; But his mischevious nature Made two grown men pout! His quilting's amazing; his wit is sharp, too. No wonder his dear Jane Has so much to do. For who could keep up With a guy such as Dave? Only one woman Can make him behave! We love you, dear David, And this is no jest, May the next year be happy And we wish you the best!
