rrteach
I removed the plate over the bobbin area to clean out dust and when I was putting it back together one of the washers fell and went bouncing into oblivion. Does anyone know what size the washers are so I can replace it?
Sheri Butler
You can just take one of the ones you have with you to the hardware store!

Does anyone know what size the washers are so I can replace it? Teeny tiny? I know--not funny! There are two--a thinner one and a thicker one. Take one the correct size with you when you go to the home improvement/hardware store to compare. In the meantime, since these raise your needleplate so the thread cutter has clearance, either don't use the thread cutter (put a piece of tape over the button to remind yourself)-- or use the single washer on one of the outside holes until you can replace the lost one. That may raise the plate enough so you can still use the cutter. Buy some extra ones--but if you do, you will never need them--Murphy's Law! Dave-Jane
Look under the wheels or legs, not just on the machine anything around it too, as a past mechanic, that's where they like to go, you can drag a magnet around too! Sometimes they even lurk on the machine head frame, or in the hook area. They're pretty tricky little rascals!-LOL I've got to get out more---rough day, hope this helps--Grasshopper
Linda G. Craig
I was going to say the same thing, Dave, a magnet works wonders. My DH has a long magnet (2"x8") on wheels and I just push it around like a vacuum cleaner, so to speak, and I find it every time! Everything disappears into my studio flooring -- put down a carpet that wouldn't show dirt, etc -- now I can't find anything on it! LOL!
rrteach
Found lots and lots of pins but no washer. Thank you for letting me know that there were two sizes. It's off to the hardware store tomorrow. I'll get some of each.
