CindyT
Great instructions! Just to clarify what my mind is thinking on sewing the rows into the block...when you say "press the SA into the edges of the block", does that mean one seam is pressed toward the top of the block and the other seam is pressed toward the bottom of the block? If you could post a picture of the back of a block, it would be helpful to see the pressed seams (like last time). Thanks, Shannon!
doodlebug
yes cindy you are right in your thinking... here's the back..it's funny that the seam allowances look so out of wack
JustSewSimple
Shannon, these are so great and easy to do that I have my students doing this for their swap. Since they are new to quilting and their piecing is not all created equally they are just swapping fabrics, ha! My favorite thing about this is the 8 HST technique! LauraJ
How do we print it? Feeble minds need to know. Never mind! I saw where we click on the left hand File drop down menu - Print PDF. Sheesh - I shoulda looked before I sent the initial email. Posting this for anyone else who needs to know.
CindyT
Off to a slow start but have one of each color done. For some reason the camera didn't pick up as true as the colors really are (plus I can't seem to get rid of the white around the picture in Paint...any suggestions there would be welcome). IQ'd
Made one set of the lime green with the black and have the other half started with having sewn the HSTs, now to just sew the blocks together! I am also making another set with oranges.
JustSewSimple
Hey, Julia, Mine are green as well. And, I am exactly in the same place you are with my second set of 15!
CindyT
I finished all 4 (yes I did double) 15-block sets Sunday. I just need to figure out the best way to send them to Doodlebug. It was a lot of sewing and squaring up, but the good thing is when I get the swapped ones back, they will already be done!
dnice
I am a quarter of the way done.(Like Cindy I am doing the double.) The orange on the white background is completed. I am glad that we made 16 since one of the blocks met with the misfortune of my iron throwing a temper tantrum. Of course, it was one of the white backgrounds. UGH!!! The other 3 are all marked and waiting for me to sew. I should have them done in the next couple of weeks.
JustSewSimple
WHAT???? We are supposed to make 16 of each color? I completely missed that. Well, I need to get one more light one made then!
dnice
Sylvia, We are sending 15. If you follow the directions by Doodlebug, you actually make 16 blocks. (Large blocks make 2 stars and the directions said cut 8 large blocks thus 16 stars.) So do not panic. You are fine.
