Georgene
This is a Quilt of Valor a lady in our guild made. I quilt these for free. It's my only charity that I do for free. Our guild has made more than 400 QOV. The nice thing about quilting them, is I get to choose the design, thread, everything. I often try new things and learn a lot from doing them. Because this is such a simple design, all strips, I thought I'd do something to cross the blocks with stitching and make it look more complicated than it is. I decided to have fun with my Circle Lord Upfront System. So it's done with the design templates, except the border. I just used my channel locks for that. Notice I did not change directions for the borders. They are going straight across the quilt.
Beachside Quilter
Wonderful, Georgene! I love the way you combined the different templates. It adds a lot of interest and texture to the simple piecing. Well done!!
delld
I agree with Vickie! I would have never thought you used the different boards. Very creative! Thanks for sharing. 400 quilts Wow ! Our guild has only done about 85! Very one counts!!!
yankiequilter
Cool use of templates! I'm going to have to copy that! It is a wonderful work that your guild is doing. One of my goals as community quilts chair for my guild this year is to make fewer baby quilts and more larger quilts for the community, including for military. Georgene
Most of the QOVs are red, white, and blue, but I think some people get tired of that. We've done quilts in all flavors. And some of the wounded are women. So some are feminine looking. I've done nautical themed and woods themed ones.
