Hitomi
So I'm thinking about getting one of these. Can you give me feedback on which one you like best? Where do I get one?
suzanp
And why not quiltazoid, I just received mine, tried it on a quilt and just love it. The best is that it is in the front of the machine, my hartly was on the back so hard to run around the machine all the time.
The Crafty Unicorn
I had a Hartley and found it difficult to use... fiddley to put on the machine and hard to keep the arm tight enough to not wobble. Sold it to get a CL and have had no regrets. CL has many more options and customer service that can not be beat. Just my opinion...
witha'K'quilting
I have the hartley fence and the quiltazoid. Never had the circle lord so can't comment. The qz works from the front and the hf from the rear only. If you ever want to do spirographs or template boards from the front...the qz is the way to go. Just my opinion. sewcrazy4quilting
There are allot of threads on this question you can do a search and see many opinions. I have a Circle Lord with the up front stylus and spiro thingy. I am very happy with it. There is a bit of a learning curve at first, but with practice it becomes very easy to use. It's much less expensive than going computerized and gives you that computer guided look of exactly repeated designs. And once you get it down it is fast and fun. I can do a king size swirl e2e in a few hours so it's a good return on investment if you quilt for others. I am not affiliated with Circle Lord. Just my opinion. yankiequilter
There has been a lot of discussion about the Circle Lord vs. the Hartley Fence vs. the QZ, here are links to a few of them. I have the Circle Lord and love it! I can use if from the front and the only time I go to the back of the machine now are for pantos andd giant templates. Michael and Kay provide wonderful customer service and support, but actually the Circle Lord and all of its products are so easy to use that there isn't much need to contact them for support. They are available just about 24/7/365 and go out of their way to assure customer satisfaction. MIchael is constantly developing new and innovative designs and templates that make our quilts look wonderful and professionally done. They have a great no interest payment plan that makes it easy to buy and own the Circle Lord and templates, and have a money back guarantee. I don't work for them, am a happy happy customer, and I just try to help them out by answering questions about their products when I can. http://apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=26788&page=1#pid338204 http://apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=21161&page=1#pid257293 http://apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=19658&page=1#pid233978 http://apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=25394&page=1#pid318367
victoriasews
I had the HF for awhile because it came with the machine deal and I never could get a beautiful circle. Of course, it very well could have been me, but I was able to do circles easily with the CL. I used the circle part of the system all the time for the base of feathered wreaths and flower centers. It is perfect for making swags and overlapping circles in borders. I did also really loved the Baptist Fan board. I have an IQ now so sold the CL but had a hard time letting it go because it was so easy to use and worked so well.
Hawaii
Hitomi, Here is a link of the recent Circle Lord challenge - so much "eye candy"!! The possibilities are endless for someone who is creative, and for those of us who are not so creative - wonderful tools that make us look real good!!! Michael is constantly coming up with new designs and he is VERY accomodating to design suggestions made by US!!!! http://circlelordchallenge.blogspot.com/ Everyone has their preferences - there have been some beautiful quilts put out by owners of the Hartley and Quiltazoid. My preference is Circle Lord, customer service is great and Michael has a wonderful no-interest payment plan for those of us who want our toys, but cannot immediately pay. If you are ever on Oahu, come visit and play with my CL. Barbara
Corey
I love my Circle Lord, and it does make me look very good as a longarmer when they see the quilts done with CL. The boards are really moneymakers as the quilting goes very quick but looks hard to do and it is very precise that your circles really look round. Just a happy customer, Kay and Michael has the best customer service, 24/7 almost. Corey
Hitomi
So where did you buy the CL? I went online but there so no price list. Just an email. I called and left message but no one called me back. Do you have a different number?
yankiequilter
Here's the link to the list of templates and prices, and if you click on each of the different templates they will open to pictures of quilts done using them. I think Michael and Kay are at MQX right now, but I know they will contact you as soon as possible. If you have some questions, I can try to answer them. I see his sale is good through April 15, tomorrow, but I bet he would honor that price if he doesn't get back to you until next week since MQX runs through April 16 and he is not at home. http://circlelordindex.blogspot.com/
nanbrug
Hi Hitomi just read your thread. I have the CL up front and back boards thats about the only toys I have purchased so far but really like them. Michael and Kay are great and will work with you. I can't wait to get my boards paid off so I can get the border ones. Let us know which one you get and how you like them.
JustSewSimple
I plan to buy the CL crosshatch and tiles templates very soon. I love using my CL. At first I was afraid but after I got used to it I have wondered why it scared me in the first place! Can't say anything about the other two but I'll bet there are folks who like them also. I respect the other quilters on this forum and if they love the QZ or HF then I believe they are good products also! Good luck and let us know what you decide. Parm
MQResource also has courses on how to use the CL by Deb Levy. These are awesome lessons.

The Crafty Unicorn
I can tell you that Michael & Kay are both here at MQX. You may hear from him tonight late (or early your time) He is like Santa Claus...always watching. I don't know when he sleeps
circlelord
Hitomi, Thank you for your interest in the Circlelord. You can email me at loricles@loriclesquilting.com anytime. We are at MQX, but are reading emails all day. You have probably found the Index with priceslists and description, so if you have any questions, write to me or post them and I will answer them. The sale prices are good as long until you buy now, so don't worry about that. There is tons of information in our blogs. Just follow the links in the INDEX-PRICELIST or on the top right of the page. Our Giant templates are the best way for a new quilter to start into the Long Arm business. You invest in a set of tools, paid for monthly as you earn. Your first quilt done with the Swirlz, http://circlelordswirls.blogspot.com/ will get you "Wows". After you get used to your machine and want to do more custom block work, you can get the Circlelord mounted on the front of the machine to do Feathers, Gingko, crosshatching and many other detailed designs. Just send me your wishlist and I'll send a quote. After we get back, I'll be glad to discuss your needs and likes on the phone.
