My Grandaddy bought it for my Mother, when she left home to go to college! She bought a bigger, better Kenmore machine when I was a youngster, but lucky for me, she never got rid of the feather weight. Sadly, she died when I was 12 yrs old. My Daddy decided I needed to learn to sew, so he sent me to sewing lessons at the Singer store. I cut my teeth on that feather wt. because he was afraid I would ruin the Kenmore. Turns out that feather wt. sewed much better than the Kenmore ever did. The machine is one of my fond memories of my Mama, so I have kept it all these years.
