mswings
While in Paducah at the AQS show, I bought what looks like a mustache trimmer to be used as a frogging tool. Got it out last night and wow what a breeze it is to use. Love it! You could probably get one at any beauty store. I highly recommend this sweet little tool. (Wish I didn't need it):D

Guest Linda S
Is it an eyebrow trimmer? They work great when you need to "skin" a quilt.
Sheri Butler
I'll bet it's that electric trimmer. My aunt got one and loves it. They retail about$65? I think. Peggys stitch eraser. mswings
It definitly is a mustache trimmer. Just now when I showed it to my husband he laughed, went to a cupboard and pulled out his:D:D:D His is a little bigger and takes 3 batteries, mine only uses 1. It is made by Wahl. I have never figured out how to post a picture but he says he'll help me do that later. Oh and the best news is I paid $15 for it.

appr216
I have the WAH 9962-717 and it works great. Only $13. I have seen them at Walgreens also but I think you can pick them up almost anywhere.

Thanks, AnitaSews
quiltingjoyful51
Frogging is ripping stitches. It is our least favorite thing in quilting and this is a tool to help speed up the process. There are a couple of different tools out there. You just have to find what works for you.
Gator
Peggy's stitch eraser is more for removing embroidery. The mustache trimmer (smaller than Peggy) is better for quilts.
SewWhatsUp
I'm trying to picture how you would use this. Do you run it across the top? Or between the layers?
mswings
You hold up the top and go between the layers. Pull and "unstitch". When you pull up the top, you can see the stitches easily. You just keep repeating the pull and gently cut the exposed stitches.
KathyA
make sure you do it on the backing/batting side to avoid damaging the quilt top. and be careful, i'm too impatient and have cut into the backing more than once.
mswings
You do need to be careful because you can cut the fabric. If you take your time though, it is really easy. It is a lot faster than any other method I've tried.
