I'm in Vegas

Recommended Posts

OMG...our room is beautiful. It's a one bedroom with two bathrooms...jacuzzi tub...a view out two sides...I'm in heaven. Even a walk on balcony....a kitchen with stainless steel appliances...I am NOT cooking, but I might make some toast in the morning. We are staying at the MGM Signature and so far it is unbelievable. It's a one bedroom condo behind the MGM. I have stayed in Vegas a dozen times before at all the different casinos then I found this place and nothing compares to it. When we stayed at NYNY they didn't even have a coffee maker in the room.

I will have to post pics sometime in the next three or four days. Waiting on my daughter and family to get here from the airport...they just landed.

I love the color of our hall.

Why don't you all come and have some fun with me?

Thank all of you. I didn't gamble last night. My granddaughters (ages 12 and 15) and I came back to the room and let all of the "imbibers" go enjoy. It was an eventful night for both the girls. The 12 year old pulled a tooth (eeuuuwwwww) and the 15 year old found out that she made the Junior Varsity cheerleading squad. She worked hard for that. They posted it at midnight. Yay!!!! Celebration!

Everyone is asleep still so I've had my coffee, chatted with my friends here, now it's shower time and I may walk down to the casino for a bit. I need to start winning the money to offset the cost of my sewing room.:D

They have two very nice quilt stores here that I usually go buy something from. Quiltique is very nice. I always spend any winnngs I get there. I don't recall the name of the other one at the moment, but I like it too. I've never met a quilt store I didn't like. We drive (a little over 400 miles) so I have plenty of room. Need to find the Janome dealer today or tomorrow and pick up a foot for my serger.

Gave the photo quilt to the graduating daughter last night and she was truly surprised and touched by it. Felt good. I'll post a pic as soon as I find my camera. I'm hoping my daughter took it with her last night. If not then it has to be here in the room somewhere. Graduation today then she has to jet off to Atlanta tomorrow for her second interview on Monday for a new job. Very lucky. Her life has suddenly started moving ahead at a very fast pace.

I'm taking 9 of us (4 grandchildren) to see Cirque Du Soleil "KA" tonight. I've seen "Mystere" twice. It's wonderful. They are extremely expensive shows and it's very helpful that I get to use our military discount. It cut the price by 40% and made it possible. I highly recommend their shows here in Vegas. Amazing performers.

I'll post more later. Thanks for all the good wishes and Karma. I've gotta go find a roulette wheel so I can play number 17. Thanks Hitomi :)

Thanks for the invitation to LV, but I don't even go when my DH goes. I guess I am more of a homebody and don't care for all the lights and flashy casinos. I am glad others in joy LV.:D

Come with him the next time and stay here. There are NO slots or gambling within any of the three towers. It's just high end accommodations with a view. And the price is wonderful. Use your AAA discount or maybe others. It's very reasonable (probably because you aren't in a casino). There is a walk way to the MGM, but it isn't close enough for me to just hop back and forth all the time. It has the moving walkways like airports have. I can't walk far because of a back injury. It's doable just hard at times. You could go to the quilt stores. You'd have soooo much fun. Really!

Oma - the quilt is beautiful as is the girl!

We get to Vegas once or twice a year. We have a friend in Boulder City (also one in Lake Tahoe). Quiltique is a fantastic store - my favorite. Each trip I buy from them. What a beautiful selection of fabrics and a drop dead store. It takes me 10 minutes to drive there from Boulder. Have been to many others in LV as well, but Quiltique is just the best. Also love The Quilt House in Gardnerville, NV. Go there every summer when we are in Tahoe. Always buy there as well.

Glad you hit on #17! What fun! Your accommodations look beautiful. We usually stay at Paris. I have a great host at {aris and he always gets us a suite with two bathrooms and a large living room. I love it because I am an early riser and spend a lot of hours there reading. We do a lot of walking when we are in LV. With friends living there, we go out for wonderful meals etc. Catch a show every now and then. It is a fun getaway for us and only a 3 1/2 hr. drive.

Your quilt studio is looking fantastic - can't wait to see the after pics when it is all set up!
