jmcclannan
I have inherited an antique (1897) New Home treadle machine. I can't locate a manual for it and I need to learn how to thread it. Anyone out there have a similar machine or a source for info?
Mary Beth
Julie, try doing a google search...threading a new home treadle....I bet you will find it. I find all kinds of good stuff. Some sites want you to buy the manual...then the next site wants to give you all kinds of info out of the goodness of their hearts.... I missed seeing you at MQS. RunningThreads
Julie Here is a source for a couple of manuals. Maybe one of these will work. http://www.ismacs.net/newhome/manuals.html If you can't find one the thread must go fron the spool through the tension then the take up lever and then through the needle. If you take the needle plate off and watch the needle and hook or shuttle as you rotate the handwheel the hook passes on the backside of the needle. You already know this it's the same as your longarm it probably just looks different. To determine which way to rotate the handwheel without a needle in the machine watch the feed dogs or put a piece of fabric under the presser foot and rotate the handwheel so the fabric feeds in. Hope this helps Nigel
jmcclannan
MB - I missed being at MQS. Family stuff just got in the way. I did find a manual on line. I hope we can get together this summer some time with all of our midwest friends.
