donna sco Posted May 31, 2011 Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 Our local guild held its quilt show this weekend with about 200 quilts and judged by a certified judge. I walked in and there was a ribbon for Best Machine Quilting in large pieced quilt category, then another Best Machine Quilting for an applique quilt in the show theme category. I almost pulled this one from being judged because I had tension problems and the back was terrible. I just started quilting for the public at the first of the year. Then found my applique quilt that took me 3 years to finish and it had a first prize on it. When the awards were handed out I received Best of Show, small quilt ($100) for it and the long arm quilter who quilted it for me received Best Machine Quilting in show. So even though I had tension problems I was judged on how I filled the space, etc. Was very surprised. Now if I could just get the tension under control.
