Farmland Quilter
I'm going to make a quilt for my friend from her deceased father's flannel and plaid cotton work shirts (he was a farmer), adding in some purchased cotton fabric in a square in a square pattern. The quilt won't receive heavy use but they don't want to just throw it over a chair and look at it either. The fabrics are pretty thin and stretchy (think well worn). I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to put some stabilizer behind the fabric. It has been cut into approximately 4 1/2 inch squares. They will need recut as they are not uniform or square. If you think stabilizer is a good idea what type would you suggest.
JustSewSimple
I might back it with muslin if it is highly worn but I don't know that i would use Pellon or something on it.

April W
This quilt was made for my Mom for Christmas last year from my Dad's shirts. We backed each square with muslin and stitched them together. Mom has it on the back of a chair in the living room and uses it to watch TV with at night.
