Sometimes it's just easier with a visual. Heck...few of us will tackle a quilt without a pattern in front of us. Lynn, print out the instructions and start from the very start and go through stage by stage. Sometimes it takes a little bit before the signature shows up (up to 10 minutes). Make sure the box on the forum is empty then paste the BB code into it. Be sure to click "Edit Post" too.
