ffq-lar
Have I ever shared how much I hate a puzzle meander? No, I love the look of it. I use it a lot on appropriate quilts, like behind traditional sample blocks and with 30's repro quilts. But, even though I am happy with the outcome, I dread the execution. I find I need to be careful of keeping the size consistent and remind myself constantly to slow down or I get dead-ended. I get tense, my shoulders and back hurt--whine whine whine! It's my burden to bear! So I will share Linda's "Vintage-repro Meander". I can "speed-demon" this one, it is forgiving, looks great on kid's quilts as well as vintage ones, and my eye and back are happy with the outcome. The photo has been color-altered to show the stitching--it is on an unbleached muslin backer, thus the spots and dots. Thanks for always listening to my rambles! Shar Schmutz
Good one Linda, to me it looks harder than the puzzle meander. I'll have to give it a try! Thanks for always sharing and teaching here on the forum! You are one of many of our precious jewels!

Anne from Guam
I'll have to try that one. I know people who don't like the puzzle meander at all.
ramona-quilter
What a fun meander, Linda. It reminds me of cocks comb. Like you, I also have trouble "not crossing" the lines. I really have to focus. I believe that stipple, in all its sizes, is a wonderful background filler. It just lays in the back, anchoring and doesn't try to steal the show. I will have to try your 3-bump meander, though. Thanks for the tip, Linda.
Primitive1
Nice idea Linda! Thanks for sharing with us - I'll have to give that one a try!
DoryJM
I get so bored with normal stippling; I've been trying all sorts of alternatives. Think I'll give yours a try as well...I love how it looks! Thanks, Linda!
Mrs.A
I can do the standard meander or puzzle stipple in a variety of scales but find it boring. I like the look of this one and will give it a try. Thanks so much for sharing, Linda. I gain so much from this forum! Nancy in Tucson
GrandmaLKB
I can do meander pretty well, but it gets BORING after a while. I like to learn and try new things......must be why I am a sucker for all the new toys that keep popping up. haha
Boni
I've always called this one 3's and E's....say that while you're quilting...3-2-1-E-2-1-3-2-1-E-2-1...on the 1 you change direction. Good photo! and we love your rambling!
jeri
Thanks Linda, I'm going to use that on my 30's quilt. Yes it is my quilt. I decided it's going on my machine this week. No customer quilt will go on till this gets done. Once I get the table covers for my vendor booth at our quilt show done it's going on. Took a couple vacation days to get caught up. cblevins
Linda that is the only meander I feel comfortable doing. Boni I also call it 3's and e's but I count in the opposite direction. I so seldom use the millie that when I do I try to stick with something comfortable for me. This one works.
