yankiequilter
Several of my quilty friends are into the '30's reproduction fabrics which aren't quite my style but I conceded to make one quilt using the fabrics. By the time I had accumulated enough different fabrics for a quilt I had enough for two or more quilts. I want the quilt to be an authentic '30's pattern but decided while I'm on the hunt for the right pattern I'd make this quilt. The pattern name is 'Aunt Betty's Attic' and the quilt in the picture on the pattern is done in '30's fabrics. I used the Circle Lord Baptist fan giant templates to quilt it and like the way the design looks on the quilt. I used Hobbs 80/20 batting so that when it is washed it will shrink up and have an old quilt look. I don't think I'll become a '30's reproduction convert but I do like the fresh look of the fabrics. Thanks for looking.

LadyLake
That looks really cool, Carmen. Your quilting gave the quilt a lot of secondary movement. Nice job!

Anne from Guam
I have been collecting those 30's prints for awhile too. Some of the 30's prints are not my cup of tea. I can see how you would end up with enough for two quilts! I have mostly the soft pastels which I wouldn't mix with the primary colors, but that's just me! Congrats on trying something outside your comfort zone! Looks great.
GrandmaLKB
I like the 30s prints once in a while, too. I just started a Grandmother's Flower Garden in the 30s print. The Baptist Fan design works great with that pattern. Nice job I see the photographer's stand is in use ! Still don't have mine out of the box !!! JustSewSimple
Yummmmmm! I am a 30s fan and I am very careful in not using up my stash in case the perfect pattern comes along! The Baptist Fan gives this quilt so much awesome texture it makes me want to run in the sewing room and break out the box(s). Tee Hee! I love your quilt! s.waits
Beautiful quilt! I think both your pattern and quilting suit the 30's fabric very well. It looks pretty authentically 30's to me, but since I wasn't around back then, that's just my own idea of a 30's quilt. Authentic or not, it's beautiful!
