LauraJ
Haven't posted much - been busy! Customer had this quilt top put away for 30 years. The hand applique and hand embroidery is awesome. I was privileged enough to quilt it. All 36 white applique squares has a different background.

Primitive1
I agree, what a beautiful job, all of your different background fillers also give it so much interest, I could spend lots of time just looking at each block!

LauraJ
Shana, I marked the clam shells with a stencil and then used the nested circle rulers and just moved the nested circle ruler across the row. I find it's easier to start at the lower row, go across and then work up to next row, etc. So - nope, no starts and stops. Was able to do a whole section at a time. http://quiltersrule.com/template/insideCollection.html
LauraJ
The applique figures "talked" to me and I did the fills according to what was on the clothing, umbrella, etc. The customer loved it and that made my day!!!
lisae
Absolutely stunning, Laura! Thanks for the explanation on the clamshells...I have a quilt I want to use clamshells in the background, but have been unsure how to approach it! LauraJ
Lisa I have a computerized system so was able to do oriental themed motifs in the blue squares - other than the free-motion clam shells and white squares. I really like being able to mix free-motion with computer.
