Dealing with full borders . Pics.

Recommended Posts

Just finished a quilt which had VERY full borders. While I was quilting them, I thought it may be a good idea to show before and after pictures so that any newbies who have not encountered this yet will have at least one way to overcome this, if the customer just doesn't want to re-do them.

Obviously, this is the 'before' picture.

Oh my gosh! I can't wait to see how you handle this bad puppy!

I had one once that wasn't quite this bad and when I stitched it I had my daughter put her hands, one on each side of the needle base and gently stretch, by pushing down, the fabric so I wasn't sewing in pleats. I like the way you did the rest of the quilt, what I could see looks wonderful!

Happy stitching!

You're a genious. I was looking at your other post and thinking...... that's nice, I wonder what technique she was talking about. But, like Tish says, "Holy crap!" - what a difference! You did an awesome job on this quilt. I think your customer should get down on her knees and thank you.

You must be awefully nice to take a quilt like that from your customer. I don't think I've ever seen a border that bad.

Great job!
