Pennyquilts
This is one of my tops, I can't decide between white or variegated yellow thread. I've put white thread in the bobbin. What do you think?

LibbyG
Can you show a closeup block with the thread on top? I usually like white on white, but it might look nice if it's very light.
Boni
I'd go for variegated anything at this point...:P:P:P

Boni
Are you talking about variegated in the white areas? Certainly in the border and sashing it would work. I have a thread called French Country, Signature variegated that has blue yellow and white. I think it would be too distracting in the white background. That should be white on white especially if you do something like McT or a close stipple type. Just my 2 cents. Very pretty....is it applique or print? I'm assuming it's applique, but if it is, you are a saint! Wow!
Quilting Heidi
I would use white on the white. I think the varigated thread would take away from the quilt design. I love the colors. Just beautiful!
TerriVB
I might be odd man out here--but the applique looks quite contemporary and modern even kinda art nouvoe looking--I might go with the varigieted yellow--if it is soft and not too jarring--I like to put the unexpected in some of the more contemporary quiltsIf the designs are from the victorian era--they did everything to excess--go with the yellow!! Just my opinion--and it is yours--so you can do anything!! Terri
kathyb
I would do white on the white background.
TallPinesStudio
I think white on white would look very pretty. I think the variegated might distract. Just my opinion...
s.waits
I think white on white for the blocks, but the variegated would be great in the border and sashing. Beautiful quilt!
Busy Quilting
I'd use a very pale lemon thread. Not quite white and not quite yellow.
matildanme
White on white
LadyLake
You could use a matching green in a thick thread on the sashing -- doing an embroidered type of look with leaves. I'd stay with matching thread on each applique colored patch and the background white. A large scale quilted design might have a chance of showing on the border fabric. RitaR
I think I'd use the invisable thread in the white areas, and a simple backgroud stitch.
Primitive1
White on the white has my vote too, varigated would be fine in the borders and sashings...
witha'K'quilting
I think either white in the white or...a very faint yellow in bottomline weight might be okay too. I would save the variegated for the border.
Pennyquilts
Thank you all for your help. I went with the white on the white, blue in the blue and a variegated green on the leaves. I will post photos tomorrow. It sure looks nice, thank you again for all your help. Page back and you can see a couple of close-ups of her blocks. I believe (from looking closely at the pictures) that she has done some gorgeous applique'. Penny, I just love this quilt. It is beautiful. Love, love the colors. Can't wait to see the finished picture. You rock!
