Sparkle
I just finished this Quilt of Valor using the Circle Lord "Milky Way" template board. I haven't seen too many quilt pictures posted that have this newer Circle Lord design board, so I thought you might enjoy seeing this. The stars are so neat! A new favorite for sure! Bekah
Angie that is perfect for QOV quilts and I have a quilt I am working on for one of my grandson's that is all about the stars and galaxies that this would be perfect on. Thank you so much for posting this picture.

Sparkle
Bekah, My understanding is that Michael & Kay (Circle Lord) designed "Milky Way" with Quilt of Valor in mind, but I think it would be wonderful on a Stars & Galaxies quilt, like the one you are making for your grandson. I'm plan to use this design on many quilts, as it's very versatile. For instance you can skip stitching the inner star, or the tiny star even. Or any of the stars! and just do the swirl. It's a fun pattern!
CrazyAboutQuilting
Angie that turned out so awesome! What a perfect design for QOV's!
yankiequilter
Angie, your quilt looks great! This is anaother very versatile template. I used it some months ago and stitched the swirls, leaving out all of the stars and did feathers in between the swirls. Here's a link to the pictures. http://apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=26077&page=1#pid328159 My sister was here visiting last week and used the Milky Way template on a quilt for her son who is in the air force. Alas, due to circumstances she got away with the quilt before I could get a picture.
Sparkle
Carmen, Wonderful Idea! That is so beautiful! Question: At what point in doing the design did you add the feathers? Did you do the swirls first? then go back and add all the feathering. Gotta try this! Your very clever!

yankiequilter
Angie, I did the swirls first and then went back to add the feathers. You could put anything in that area, whether from other Circle Lord templates, regular templates or free motion. This is a fun template!

lnieland
That's a great board - and it looks so good on that quilt. I may have to give some thought to getting it. Right now I have only the Swirlz, and while I like it, this one would be just perfect for my QOVs. Thanks for sharing!

Oma
Thanks Angie, I just ordered two more boards from Michael and afterwards when I saw this one started drooling. It went on my "next time" list. Have you seen the one with the Maple Leaf Dance? Really nice. This quilt is perfect for the Milky Way.
