griff
I bought my machine for personal and volunteer work but as the holidays approach I have been asked to quilt for others. I have always used thread that is wound on the spool at angles. (I'm sure there is a technical term for this but I haven't a clue what it is.) The thread comes off the spool from the top. I was just given two quilts to do and the thread sent with them is a variegated polyester from Wal-mart that is wound in the same way bobbins are wound. Will this thread work? How do I put it in the machine? I appreciate your patience with this simple question. I am fairly new at this but am having fun!
chickenscratch
YOu don't say which machine you have, or where your thread spindles are located on your machine. However, from what you do describe it sounds as if you are using regular spool thread. That will require a horizontal thread spool holder in order to get the thread off the spool without hanging up or tangling. Correct me if I'm wrong ladies, but that has been my experience.
