Pam.Nagle
Check for power first- Plug something you know works into the outlet. Is the CQ in a UPS/Surge Protector? Is it on? That would be the first thing to try.
sewsew
Pam , thanks for replying It is plugged into the surge protecter and I can tell that it is getting power because when I turned it on the curser was blinking and the dell was making a ringing noise. A few times the Dell logo would come on then the screen goes black and you can see the curser and thats it. Arby
Sue E.
I would call S&D Stitches. Your Dell computer is under warranty if you've only had it 5 months.
APQS
Sometimes when the keyboard is unplugged on the back of the computer it will make a ringing noise. If you hear a clicking noise--then the hard drive is probably failing. The problem sounds like it's the computer and not CQ. Tad APQS.com
sewsew
Just wanted to let you know that the problem was the extension cable to the keyboard, that is what was making the ringing noise. The dell guy knew exactly what it was, nothing serious ,thank goodness. I feel kinda dumb now Thank you for trying to help us fix the problem .We appreciate it very much. Also thanks to S&D stitches for their help and patience, they are always very helpful! They're #1 Arby:):):)
