Janette
how do you all store your threads? I need a more efficient way of storing and finding my threads. I currently have them in plastic tubs by colour, but as I have expanded my stash, am finding it more difficult to control. I would like something maybe wall mounted and easily accesible, where can I find something like that? I have asked DH if he can make something, but I may have to wait at least 6 months for that to materialise ..... LOL
Tamarack
I used IKEA "Alex" cabinets that are on castors and fit under my Millie. They hold my pantos too. My husband made dividers that hold each spool so they don't roll around in the drawers.
dancing bear
kathy, go to my blogspot and scroll down to my thread storage entry. Mr. Dancing Bear made the units for me. Love my eye candy!
connieb
I just finished a quilt for my sisters closest friend. My sister is making me a cabinet that will fit under my table to hold my thread and other longarm supplies in return. She is designing it now (has a cone of thread and how my bobbins come). I can hardly wait.
DL Semmens
Janette, My hubby went to the local Lowes (home depot ect.) and ask what they had for screw storage units. In that isle he found a container with 18 individual drawers. He bought me two ( I now need a third one) they can stack on top of each other. He then made a wooden case to fit around the drawers and give me an extra shelf for storage. It all fits on the wall. What I really like about these drawers is that any extra unused bobbins can be stored right with cone of thread.
DL Semmens
I have to say that I really like Kathys cabinets also. Maybe if I ever get a larger room. I just put it on my christmas wish list, right under IQ. LOL
