Oh my, nothing is ever simple is it???

I would do the same pattern in the brown, or a similar theme, and in the patterned, not sure -- what is in the rest of the quilt and what are you doing? How busy do you want it to be I might be tempted to combine several together.

Maybe a pic of the quilt will generate other designs.

The panel is an Owl sitting in a tree and there are flowers like the one in the last sashing strip growing below the tree.

I wonder if you could do bubble quilting in one of the borders. I was thinking about the owl's eyes, and you could group 2 bubbles together kind of like eyes and then move on to the next set of 2 bubbles. Sorry! That's the best I can think of right now.

does the customer want a different pattern in each border? cause there is so much border that by quilting them all differently it could very easily over power the owl panel....if it were up to me, i'd do a nice semi-dense texture E2E to tie it all together.....

if it was requested to do them as a custom- i'd do the same design in the wide print borders and the same design in the solid brown, keeping it all simple...i'd treat that first skinny border the same as the panel...

It is custom but she doesn't care what I do. I think I have the idea now! Thanks everybody. Thanks Doodles for the drawings.
