"Baby it's cold outside"!

Wow, imagine my surprise to wake up to a winter-wonderland!

In all my 47 years, I have NEVER seen it snow this early on the valley floor, our elevation might be 200!

My kids were bummed as they had to go back to school today, but my new "Quilt Mobile" made it up the hill with no problems!;)

Wooohooo Linda! Love the quilt mobile. We don't have snow on the valley floor down here -- yet! ;) It's on the hills all around, so we're expecting we'll most likely get some tonight. I love seeing the white stuff occasionally!

Hi Linda!

Mother Nature is just plain weird!

I think we have enough snow now to make a snow man, so you should be getting yours tonight the weather man is predicting.

I say "bring it on" I would love to be snowed in for a sew in day!

Or I could come & get you & we could plunge through this white stuff & go quilt shop hopping, the new rig has "Quilt Star" (Quilters version on OnStar) ! LOL!:P

WOO HOO Linda!

You go girl! Just lovin' your QUV! (that's Quilt Utility Vehicle!)

No snow in the outlook here for the next 20 years! We got 6" last year nad it was the first snow in Alvin in 30 years. It may freeze 15 miles north in downtown Houston, but all we get is a touch of frost...maybe. Good for me, I don't do cold!

It is icy here in Portland tonight. They say it will be clear and cold tomorrow (Wed) then, Freezing rain on Thursday. Looks like it is a good week to stay in and practice freehand. Bev and I are looking forward to our beginners class next month. I hope the weather doesn't interfere.

Deb,

I think that snow must be that white stuff that

falls from the sky when the temperature drops below 60. I

hear that it sticks to the ground and folks make snow

people from the white stuff. :P

I do have some white stuff in the back yard but I don't think

it is the same......

Ok, I'm done rubbing it in. But I do love living in southern

California

Linda - I love your new wheels.

Wow, that really is a contradiction, tropical paradise verses snowland... I think I would prefer snowland, since I really like to have four seasons seperated: I live in The Netherlands, Europe. It is too warm for the time of the year. Here it seems seasons have been shifted forward, because we should have storms and low temperatures now, but it still is above normal. It could change any day now, and then winter will fall in, but not with too much snow though ( too bad, I love the snow, but being on the road is no fun when reads are filled with snow ).

For quilters all seasons are ok, I think...

Last week we hit a new record for high temps - 89. Today and tomorrow the high is only supposed to be in the low to mid 60s. We don't get snow here in the "Valley of the Sun," but we do in the mountains!.

I am a warm weather person - I had the cold and snow. I grew up in New England and I don't miss shoveling that white stuff, driving on ice, and the cold. Give me 90-100 degree days and a swimming pool and I'm happy:cool:

I know this will be nothing compared to what some of you ladies get, especially the others in Canada, but for us in Victoria on southern Vancouver Island, it's almost unheard of.

We had about 4" on Sunday, which we cleared from the driveway, then yesterday we had another dumping and ended up with about 12". My boss closed the store yesterday and has changed my day off this week to today instead of tomorrow, so I don't have to risk the icey roads yet. Thank goodness, I just HATE the stuff!! :(:o:(

Today I'm going to get my Christmas cards written. :)

I miss the snow! I think we are suppose to be 65 to 70 today. I've got my window open in my sewing room for all that fresh air.

I will admit I've become a Southern wimp when it comes to cold temps...the body adjusts quickly...I do miss Iowa even with the subzero temps. It sure makes one appreciate the other 3 seasons.
