Mountain Laurel

Recommended Posts

This is a special little quilt, just 30 inches square, that I spent days trying to come up with a design. I had tons of suggestions and ideas but none played well together. I finally just put it one yesterday afternoon and started. I finished up about 1:30 this morning. The pattern was a gift my my daughter, Margot, who gave it to me as as a gift when she returned from living a few months in the mountains of West Virginia while her husband worked on windmills. She knows I collect patterns from where I visit from local artists. This designer actually lived in the little one intersection town just a few minutes from the cabin where she lived. The batting is wool, the thread SoFine and the background idea inspired from Leah Day.
