Giftedhands
OK, I thought "outline triangles around the big block, and keep most of the quilting lines straight or diagonal cross hatching. What to do In the borders. She's headed on the Frame tomorrow, so just throw some ideas out there! Cynthia
kathyb
How bout a Terry Twist (my favorite) in all of the squares and 1/2 sq. triangles? A "square" snail in the border? Is there a better name for that?
Giftedhands
What is that? I get the square snail reference.... cynthia
Guest Linda S
Terry twist is a continous curve design made popular by Sally Terry. Looks really good in squares and triangles. It would look good on this quilt. I think I might try a bigger motif in the middle of the block, like a feathered wreath or some block design to fill the space, then do the TT in the smaller squares and triangles. You could also do some SID. Dang! My memory fades quickly when the picture isn't right in front of me. Linda
mgregory
Linda, I met you in Tacoma at the Hartly Fence class, then I went on a month vacation now I am ready to get busy. I brought 6 tops home from friends to quilt. Can you tell me more about the Terry Twist? I saw the ruler but no instructions. Do you have any pictures? Thanks, Maxine APQS Mill. RDINKLA
Hi Cynthia, I did one of these awhile back. I tried to put a picture in here but it never did show up so I uploaded one to my webshots album. It might take a few minutes for it to show up there. It's the last picture in the quilts 10 album Romonia Dinkla APQS Millennium http://community.webshots.com/user/rdinkla
Giftedhands
Ramonia...it's the same quilt...different colors!!! I quilted Xs through the bricks, too, and I did leaves in the long narrow borders!!!! How cool is that??? Stitched along the lines in the triangles, though.... cynthia
