whitepinesquilter
Recently I was quilting a throw and didn't have enough of the color of Glide I wanted to use. I had some Coats and Clark trilobal poly thread I had picked up at Joanns, so I switched out and continued on quilting with the Coats thread. It stitched out wonderfully with no tension adjustments. I am not near my quilting supplies right now, but I believe the Glide thread is a #40 and so is the Coats. And it takes as much strength to snap as the Glide does so it is strong. I love Glide thread in all ways possible, but was pleasantly surprised with the Coats. Just thought I'd mention it as Joanns carries a good selection of colors, too. Guest Linda S
That thread is not cheap, however. The Coats and Clark is 1100 yards for about $6, with Glide, you get 5000m for just a little more. I'll stick with Glide every time!
whitepinesquilter
Linda, I agree wholeheartedly with you, I was just surprised to find the Coats to work as great as Glide when I ran out of Glide. It (Coats) does run what you mentioned but I happened to build up a few for embroidery using 50% off coupons and thread sales. I love Glide, no doubt about it, but I also like this Coats.
