Quilting Heidi
I was having some trouble with my tension not being just right and noticed that my spring on the tension disk did not seem as springy as it once. I had a spring that I had in my stash for the just in case moment. I was going to change it out before the wedding but decided that I didn't have time for my machine to be down so I waited until yesterday. Well I changed it out and it took all of 2 minutes. I was worried it would give me problems but really it was simple. Tonight I finally stitched with it and my stitches are beautiful and my tension is perfect. Thanks Sylvia for your post about changing out your tension assembly, that is what spurred me on.
zeke
Nice. Always have a spare check spring on hand. One day, maybe on Sunday, that little springy thing will fly off and you'll be stuck with no quilting to do until you buy a new one.
JustSewSimple
It was easy wasn't it Heidi? That is such a quick and easy fix! Glad it worked for you too!

CindyT
I'm still putting mine off...I guess me threatening to change it helped my tension. Glad to know it won't shouldn't take me so long when I do decide to tackle it.

JustSewSimple
I replaced the entire outside assembly and it took like 3 minutes! Honestly! Then with like one turn of the dial the tension was perfect! I would encourage anyone to replace theirs if they think it is the problem.
Quilt Happy
Hi, Sylvia and Heidi, did you get directions from Amy or just put it on the way you took it off? Thanks!
Quilting Heidi
Carol the directions are in the manual.
Quilt Happy
Thanks, Heidi! I get to relying on the forum, Dawn and Amy. Good lesson in "go back to the manual first!"
