Farmland Quilter
I want to plan my winter trip to daughter's in CA and some other things. Has anything further been discussed about a maintenance class this winter or will it not be until Spring??
DawnCavanaugh
Hi Cheryl, We will be setting the schedule this week. We typically don't have our first maintenance class until mid-to-late March. The weather in Iowa can be too temperamental to plan things sooner and be reasonably lucky with the weather. Being in Iowa yourself, you know how that can go .
Bonnie in Ok
Dawn is it possible to bring your own machine to learn/do the maintance on?
Farmland Quilter
Thank You Dawn. Just knowing It will be after March is a big help to my planning for both scheduling and finances. Please put my name on the list for those attending and I will make payment to hold my place as soon as it is required. The date doesn't matter as long as it is not June. I will adjust my schedule to fit. Cheryl Robinson
DawnCavanaugh
Hi Bonnie, Because we want to help keep the class on task and cover as much as possible, it really isn't practical to bring along your own machine to physically work on during class. However, we have had students ship the machine in advance, and then they pick up the machine while they are here. Since some repairs such as bearing work or replacing needle bars may be required (depending on the machine's age or issues) those repairs require more time than the class period allows. You do work on machines, but they are typically machines that have been traded in.
