BarbWetzel
I just completed a quilt for a customer, and she thinks the stiches are too long. I called APQS for support, and set the stitch as small as I can (7). Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to put the stiches lower? I too think they look a little long. There are far from a regular sewing machine. Barb Ivy Corner Quilting Altoona, Iowa 50009
Giftedhands
7 Is the number of stitches per inch. 11 is where I start! cynthia
LindaN
I quilt a lot of pantos in constant speed, and with the motor running pretty fast my stitches are about 10-12 an inch. Its pretty consistent, even in my corners. When I put my machine into regulated mode its at 12 stitches per inch. (I have an Ult I with the IS2K aftermarket regulator on it). If you're in constant speed turn up the motor; if you're quilting in regulated change your setting so you're around 10-12.
hummingbird
Hi Barb, Just remind yourself that the smaller the number, the larger the stitch length. I like 12 for freehanding most things.
